About Me
I am a licensed psychotherapist with over 27 years of experience working with both teens and adults.
If your emotions often feel bigger than you would like them to, I can help you understand them and develop skills to respond more effectively rather than react impulsively.
If health worries have begun to take over your thoughts, your time, or your peace of mind, I can help you break the cycle of fear and uncertainty so you can get back to living your life.
My Background
My background in mental health and medical social work shapes the way I approach therapy. I spent many years as a hospital social worker in the neonatal intensive care unit, labor and delivery, and in organ transplant, walking alongside patients and families during some of the most vulnerable and life-changing moments of their lives.
My years in medical social work gave me firsthand experience supporting patients and families facing serious medical conditions. That perspective allows me to understand the fear and uncertainty that often accompany health anxiety, while helping clients learn to respond to those fears with greater confidence and self-trust.
This work has given me a deep understanding of how closely emotional and physical health are connected, and how stress, illness, and life demands can affect daily functioning and overall well-being. I bring that perspective into my clinical work by paying attention to the whole person, not just isolated symptoms.
